Exhibition of the Indigenous Peoples’ Transitional Justice

In the democratic social system, the voice of the indigenous people seems unable to catch public attention. Taiwan’s indigenous people have lived in this land for thousands of years. Their diverse and vibrant cultural assets have always been the island’s most symbolic significance of life value. How to make this precious historical meaning of only 2% of the population to infiltrate into the universal society of 98% of the population is a dialogue process beyond language expression.

The “Original Road” is composed of five main axes, namely the “right ,” “language,” “name rectification,” “Taoyuan,” and “art.” Let’s try to escape from the historical exploration under the colonial regime, and change the initial Chinese name of “Escape from the Origin” to the four concepts of “Tao Yuan,” narrating the four meanings of “old tale,” “old voice,” “new home,” and “new perspective.” The event had invited two contemporary indigenous artists to share their works and construct a process on how the indigenous people have searched the original path to struggle for power.
